Welcome to the February 2019 Kit Club Reveal! It's a short month, so let's get to it....
Zipline is a fun shawl that makes great use of beautiful colors and different textures. The engaging mix of brioche and garter is finished off with some stylish tassels.
Zipline was designed by Lavanya Patricella, a knitting instructor, designer and full time mom living in Pennsylvania. She first learned to knit from her Grandmother over 14 years ago and the craft means so much to her. She’s been teaching for the past 8 years and loves the friendships and shared joy and creativity that hand knitting brings.
The yarn for your project is La Jolla from Baah Yarns. Mira Cole, dyer behind Baah Yarns, has a background in graphic design and taught painting for ten years in Indonesia. She picked up knitting when she moved back to the United States but like many dyers became frustrated when she couldn’t find the colors she wanted. She’s inspired by the play of light and dark, and her goal is to create velvety colors with carefully hand-painted shades that might appear solid at first but shift in the light.
Baah Yarn La Jolla is a smooth wool yarn in vibrant colors that is a pleasure to knit up in Lavanya’s beautiful pattern.
We’ll see you next month!
