Welcome to the June 2018 Shipment of the Kitterly Kit Club!

Summer time, the sun is out and the air is warm and what use could you have for a hand-knit shawl? Except for anytime you go indoors, the air conditioning is on way too high and suddenly you desperately need something to defend your bare arms from the chilly air! Luckily you are a knitter, and we’ve got a project to get working on to solve that problem!

This month’s shipment:

Kitterly Kit Club June 2018 Club Shpment - Mucha by NCL Knits in Anzula Haiku

Mucha by Nadia Crétin-Léchenne
featuring Anzula Haiku

For Swiss designer Nadia Crétin-Léchenne, knitting is a part of everyday life. She first learned to knit in school at an early age, and her mother and grandmother were both knitters. Her passion however, didn’t come immediately. It wasn’t until she had kids and got into blogging that her knitting really began to flourish and she started to design.

The name Mucha comes from the iconic artist Alfons Mucha, and the lace border is a tribute to the Art Nouveau style.

The pattern knits up beautifully in Anzula’s Haiku yarn. Anzula is hand dyed in Fresno, just a long car ride up the state from Kitterly’s home town of Los Angeles! The company began in 2005 when founder and owner Sabrina Famellos started dying yarn in her bathtub and sink. Today, Anzula continues to grow and expand and a team of employees fulfill orders out of their warehouse.

Haiku is one of their unique blends, a mix of bamboo and merino with just a little nylon to add strength. The bamboo gives the yarn a subtle sheen while the wool keeps it fluffy and warm. We’ve picked out three beautiful color combination to compliment Nadia’s beautiful design.

We’ll see you next month!
