Welcome to the July Shipment of the Kitterly Kit Club
Is that summer sun threatening to sap all your energy? July is looking absolutely beautiful and it’s hard not to resign yourself to spending the day sipping iced tea and laying at the beach or the park. I know knitters though, and we’re a dedicated bunch who’ll keep knitting under any circumstances. Here’s July’s Kit Club to energize you on these lazy beautiful days:
Towanda! by Casapinka
WalkCollection Pure Sock
Casapinka’s designs are bold, beautiful and bright. Her shawls feature exciting color combinations and fun textures. She definitely likes pink. Her background is as an ER doctor, and her interests include aviation.
The name for her project, Towanda, comes from the movie “Fried Green Tomatoes” and is meant to be a battle cry. The exciting color combinations and fun knit will fill you with the energy you need to get you through whatever the day has for you.
To knit your powerful Towanda you have WalkCollection’s beautiful Pure Sock. WalkCollection is based in Germany, where dyer Cathrin Walk meticulously creates her beautiful colors. Cathrin has been knitting since she was a child, but she was trained as a fashion seamstress and initially sold sewn knitting accessories.
She began dying yarn to get the colors she wanted but couldn’t find, and soon after started selling to others. She dyes with particular attention to making sure that the finished fabric knit with the yarn is beautiful, not just the skein. Her Pure Sock is a wonderfully soft 100% superwash merino wool fingering weight yarn.
We hope you enjoy this bright beautiful scarf during this beautiful month!
