Welcome to the May Shipment of the Kitterly Kit Club!
Do you live by the coast--any coast? We have Kit Club members from all over, and we love seeing the different states and cities on our shipping labels. (even countries!) This month’s project has a distinctly coastal theme, so even if you don’t live by one, we’re bringing it to you.
This month’s Kit Club:
Lighthouse by Woolenberry
featuring The Uncommon Thread Silky Singles
Woolenberry is a small team of women who work together to bring beautiful projects that people will enjoy both knitting and wearing. Designer Janina Kallio takes inspiration from the beautiful nature of Scandinavia and it’s changing seasons.
The Lighthouse pattern is inspired by the beauty and peace of the oceanside setting, the solitary building standing on the rocky shore overlooking the waters. The vertical eyelet bands of the shawl might remind you of light shining down through the ocean surface while lacy edging evokes waves breaking on the rocks.
The yarn for the project comes from a beachside town in southern England. The Silky Singles from The Uncommon Thread are dyed in their studio in Brighton. Ce Persiano started the company in 2010 after knitting for a few years and becoming obsessed. The yarn is a wonderfully soft single ply fingering weight with the gorgeous shine of silk and rich hand-dyed colors.
Luckily you don’t have to live by the coast to love this project, and we hope you enjoy wearing it no matter what setting you’re in!
